We focus on businesses providing specialist services that customers depend on to keep their operations running, with an initial focus on thermal services.

Our initial acquisition focus is established UK thermal services businesses.

This includes companies operating across commercial HVACR, cooling, refrigeration, chillers, critical cooling and associated service and maintenance activities.

These systems are fundamental to the operation of commercial buildings, industrial facilities and critical environments.

Over time, ASCRON intends to develop broader technical capabilities around the systems and services required to keep essential operations running reliably.

Acquiring established businesses.

ASCRON is actively seeking established, profitable businesses where an owner is considering succession, retirement or the next stage of the company’s development.

We are particularly interested in businesses with strong customer relationships, recurring service or maintenance revenues, experienced teams and established technical capability.

For owners, our aim is to provide a credible long-term home for the business they have built.

For advisers and intermediaries, we aim to be a straightforward, commercially minded counterparty capable of evaluating opportunities efficiently and structuring transactions around the circumstances of the business and its shareholders.

Leadership.

Founder & CEO

Darren Bunce is the founder and CEO of ASCRON, responsible for the group’s strategy, acquisitions, capital partnerships and long-term development.

He is an entrepreneur with experience building, developing and transacting businesses. Darren founded GreenEnergyCompare, a national UK platform operating across the home energy and HVAC-related market, which he developed through to its acquisition in 2025 by Leads.io, an international group backed by private equity firm Egeria.

Having built and sold an owner-led business, Darren brings first-hand experience of the ownership and transaction journey, alongside experience in commercial strategy, corporate structure, transaction readiness and enterprise value creation.

He founded ASCRON with the ambition of building a national group of strong specialist businesses that support Britain’s people, critical industries and infrastructure through long-term ownership, disciplined acquisition, investment and development.
